3 Reasons To Celebrate Christmas

What is the reason you celebrate this season?

This time of year always seems to be busy. Work, plans, Christmas shopping, last minute gifts, evenings with friends, activities at church and a never ending busy schedule

Sometimes, my plans get caught up in the festivities. I find myself doing so much, that in the busyiness, I forget to simply take a moment to spend time with God and remember the reasons to celebrate Christmas.

Something unexpected changed all that this last week. I came down with a winter ‘bug’ and flu and was knocked for six.

Suddenly, I realised that no matter what I wanted to do, I couldn’t and what I hoped to achieve, I had to put on ‘temporary’ hold, because the only way I could get better was to rest – yes,  rest!

So, I took the time to simply talk to God…

  • He was there with me… when I felt poorly…
  • He was quietly singing over me… as I tossed with fever…
  • He was silently caring for me as I slept… fighting the infection…
  • He never left me…
  • He was whispering…

Be Still!  And know that I AM GOD (Psalms 46:10)… God in that moment (when you need Him most).

My thoughts turned to this season…

  1. Although we celebrate His Holy birth to a Virgin (1st coming)… we anticipate His Spectacular Return (2nd coming).
  2. Although we acknowledge His deity in birth (with gifts brought by the Wise Men)… we worship His majesty as Triumphant King (who conquered death and sin!).
  3. Although we bow at His cradle… we look up to a God Most High!

This Christmas, will you be still and know that He is God?
He is only a heartbeat away.
All you have to do is simply speak to Him, right now, right in the middle of whatever you face or feel overwhelmed by.

Don’t know where to start? Practice makes perfect and you only get one chance to be the best version of yourself! Now is the time to invest in you. You can find a better way to get through you break-up. Infuse every moment with beauty. Influence every God-given dream into your destiny. And impress your tomorrow with hope and expectancy. You don’t have to do this alone and I know exactly how you feel. But there is hope in your journey, To discover that the sky is the limit. And find an undying passion for living purposefully in the centre of God’s will!
