Why Does Trusting God Begin With Truth

Have you heard the phrase ‘trusting God is so much simpler than not trusting Him’?

Whether this is the first time you heard this saying or maybe you have been informed of this before. Trusting God is something we learn as we weather lives storms and grow stronger and wiser. God is good and loves us unconditionally. Our role is to believe that and trust that He has our best intentions at heart.

How hard is it for us to trust God?

Most times when we doubt God and what He says to us in His Word including each and every one of His promises, we are left to our own thinking and reasoning to try and figure things out. This can lead to exhaustion and stress.

So how do we encounter God’s joy and peace simply by trusting Him? As a starting point, it is a habit we must take time to cultivate.

What is faith?

Most of our Christian living requires faith. The dictionary defines faith as being the complete trust or confidence in someone or something. When you have faith you believe in something very strongly. As a Christian you trust in the loyalty of God. Instead of being perpetually uneasy and distracted about your life.

Ponder over these three verses to provoke your thoughts to enacting faith each time you choose not to trust God. God’s promises can assist you to either find joy and peace in Him. Or get stressed out! Which will you choose?

‘..We received the same promises as those people in the wilderness, but the promises didn’t do them a bit of good because they didn’t receive the promises with faith. If we believe, though, we’ll experience that state of resting. But not if we don’t have faith….’

Hebrews 4:2-3 [MSG]

‘…The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.’

Hebrews 4:10 [MSG]

…‘Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.’

Matthew 11:28 [TPT]

Learning to trust God begins with faith!

[pullquote]We come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him. Hebrews 11:6 [AMP][/pullquote] Without faith, it will be impossible to please God. As you attempt to acquire Godly wisdom in all things. Rest in contemplation of God’s hope not your anxiety. Distractions and deception will appear, but you can choose faith not fear. Choose to climb higher, to find all the windows God wants to open you to. You are steps away from finding the joy God has for you. Keep going!

When we trust our own intentions or goals we will fail, but when we trust God we move to the next level of letting go of control to God. It is a habit, so it is formed by studying God’s word, listening to Him speak into our hearts and lives. Beyond our emotions and know what God’s word says.

How then do you approach God?

The truth is that God is the beginning. And if you turn to seek out what God thinks and would say in His Word, directly speaking into your situation. Your faith will be enlarged and you will be filled with a divine joy and peace…

  • Because you chose to trust God instead of your own understanding.
  • Because you chose to trust God instead of your circumstances.
  • Because you chose to trust God instead of your current view.

What follows is a life of simplicity and peace. Because we realise that we don’t want to live life alone but with God involved in every decision of our life.

The concept of truth is largely lost today. Trusting God–that He is truth–gives us peace–the only source of authentic peace. God bless!

It definately takes faith to trust in God. We cannot see, touch or hear Him, but we know He exists because of His Word, the Bible. Through the Bible we can know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks God’s Word to us when we go to God in prayer. It’s a simple concept, yet it takes faith. I cannot imagine a life where I don’t believe in God.
