Are you in need of a confidence boost?

Where you cultivate happiness in any situation. Particularly, in this current time when we could all find ways to enhance our happiness. So that everyone loves our joy and satisfaction for life. If you are not happy, it might not be that you can’t be happy, but that you might not know what struggles hinder you from obtaining happiness.  Begin with asking yourself these 3 questions. To gain tips to spur an upbeat way of life.

  • What makes me tick?
  • What makes me content?
  • How can I be true to myself?

While you maybe facing some form of lockdown or isolation. How are you feeling about your life?

With so much alterations in our new world of normal. If there is anything you can discover right now. Is that a good attitude and a positive spirit will be influencing determinants for how you feel. And how you feel motivates what you choose to accomplish.

There are numerous stories where people  have remarkably conquered physical health or emotional setbacks. Although we are all unique,  resilience assists us in not falling victim to circumstances. But looking at situations as an opportunity to rise, prove yourself and learn more about how strong you are becoming.

These scenarios may all sound familiar to us…

  • Ever met someone who is always on a diet, constantly depriving what they consume and invariably trying a new way to detox?

  • Have you eaten too much and vowed you would never do that again?

  • Or chose a demanding exercise routine leaving you exhausted. Sound familiar?

  • Did this year begin with many resolutions, which if I’m honest, might have easily flown out the window?

Free up space to be constructive and confident, even in the difficult and tiresome, accosted by what life throws our way. When you consider a season of purposeful growth and renewal, like spring to summer where new life is shifting. This can be a time to revive, refresh and rejuvenate yourself both mentally and physically. A boost proves to uplift you, so that you feel more contented and become healthier.

Give yourself something different to think about. With all the instability of COVID-19, it is tough to begin any radical changes. Especially as we are now almost halfway into the year. One thing that never fails to inspire me is nature, you never see the seasons mixed up, trying to be winter in the middle of summer. They are not constantly trying to move forward.

If you are in a period of rest, where God is speaking to you about varied areas in your life, from your dreams to your passions to everyday life. Seeds germinate in spring, and only in the summer do we absorb the beauty of flourishing blossoms.

With the initial three questions, take into account…

  • How adding nourishing foods to your table,
  • Implementing positive ways of thinking,
  • Devising approaches to boost your body in a gentle way,

All prove advantageous, so that you will become more enthusiastic and energetic. And yes of course happier and healthier. Time to give detoxing and punishing workouts a rest.

Uplifting tips on how to look after both your body and mind

Eat with the seasons

The benefits of fresh seasonal produce means you can find ample supplies of healthy and nutritious fruit and vegetable in every season of the year. Devise or search for recipes that will excite and revitalise you. Some invigorating seasonal produce for May includes asparagus, new potatoes, samphire and rocket. Not to mention rhubarb, nectarines, apples and gooseberries. Where you can invent wholesome ways to indulge, from so much the earth has to offer.

  • Eat enough to feel nourished.
  • Taking time to carefully plan your meals. One advantage of the lockdown means I have become more organised with planning meals and ensuring the fridge has health-giving food for the week ahead.
  • Mindfully try to buy food that improve your health and minimise treats as a small reward.

You are being kind to your internal organs and upgrading to healthier, rather that stuffing yourself or overeating to the point of uncomfortable. Which in turn leads to you feeling more upbeat and yes, happy!

Exercise with the seasons

Sometimes, instead of rushing to the treadmill, you could try something relaxing like pilates or ballet. With an average class of 40 minutes, you won’t feel exhausted. Learn how to breathe and balance your performance, as you stay adaptable to your body and how you feel. Then wind down with a warming spa treatment, bath or shower. Complete with listening to relaxing music or reading a book.

  • Essential oils are good for you – to revive, refresh and relax you.
  • Health teas improve your digestive system.
  • Music can diminish your woes and help you slow down.

Energise with the seasons

It might not be a good time to make drastic changes, but you can appreciate what is good in your life right now and embrace it. Sometimes change comes when we identify something that isn’t working.

  • Working out what you want out of life in an organised list can help both your emotions and relationships.
  • What do you want to achieve right now? A goal that relates to where you are right now.
  • What dreams have you always wanted to fulfil? A bucket list perhaps.
  • Do you have any professional or financial goals?
  • What type of people do you want to spend more time with? Affirmative, influencing and bubbly.
  • Is there that hidden secret wish that no one ever knows you want to do? Like becoming a ballerina or a stage singer.
  • What do you value right now in your Christian faith? Do you long to draw near to God or have a better prayer life?
  • Something I have thought about a lot in recent times, if you had 6 months left to live, what 5 things would you most want to do and 5 things you would most want to do less of?

Still feel like you need some smarter skills?

Try these tips for a month; soon they will become valuable habits.

  • When something negative happens in your day. Stop yourself, have a prompt card. With these words. Look on the bright side. Then smile at how something so simple has made you feel more bright and optimistic.
  • Meetups with friends and family are sometimes best first thing in the day. When you are more alert and fresh, not when your working day has left you mentally exhausted and perhaps physically lethargic. At the start of the day, we are more inclined to be positive in every aspect of our outlook.
  • Weekends are the most loved time of the week. But I can say I am the first person to jam pack my weekends. During this time of social distancing and isolation, I have tried to focus on only three things that I want to do in a weekend. In order to unwind and still enjoy time doing things I love. Without stressing and diverting towards lack of enthusiasm.
  • Hang around with only friends and family who are optimistic, happy and always light up the room. It sure is contagious, you will leave feeling more uplifted, not depleted.
  • Begin an alarm diary. Every few hours, write down how you feel at that time. Then try to monitor your feelings…  is it due to not eating healthy or sleep deprivation or lack of exercise. Try figure out the triggers, and set out ways to address each pattern one by one.

There are so many great suggestions in this post, Ava! I really liked how you encourage us to be aware of ourselves in the different seasons. For eating for the seasons, I’ve been trying some new recipes with my family, some of which incorporate seasonal produce. It’s been fun.
