The Fastest Way To ‘Don’t Give Up’ Is ‘Go Through’

Have you been through such bad times that you thought you would never smile again?

Life is filled with hardships. No matter how tough the situation looks right now, don’t focus on the obstacles or give up. Some things God uses to break us and build us up again. Alongside adverse situations, there will always be those who don’t believe in you. People who say, ‘maybe this wasn’t meant to be’ or ‘things could go wrong’ or ‘what is the point’. Life is filled with delays and fear will never stop chasing you. Impenetrable and unyielding times appear to teach us how to recognise our limits. Trying a new way is something that will often be considered an impossibility. But consider how many unconquered people who have never abandoned hope or given up turned impossibility into success.

When David and his men went to battle and returned to find the Amalekites had destroyed their homes and taken their families; David enquired of God, who told them to go after the Amalekites and recover all they had lost [1 Samuel 30:8]. With God’s help we can recover all we have lost. In many ways I can see this in my own life. And the joy God gives you to endure testings’ becomes your strength as He takes you from the place where the enemy has stolen from you, to a way through towards what He has planned ahead for your future. As you progress rely on God’s strength. Don’t allow yourself to become fatigued doing good. If you don’t give up or quit you will see God at work [Galatians 6:9].

Is there a situation where you didn’t give up but went through instead?

Possibly you may not believe in your potential or will power. You will always find a reason to give up. But, what if you changed the way you perceived the situation you face and simply did this instead. Begin repeating to yourself, ‘I will go through’. One good reason is because God is with us always – when we pass through deep waters or flames of fires [Isaiah 43:2-3]. Things may seem unclear, but root your faith in God and don’t quit. We have been given the power to shape our destiny, not let our destiny shape us as we prepare to go through with God on our side – we will come out stronger than we were before we began.

Do you think that struggles can develop your strength of character?

There is every possibility that hard times, mistakes and sadness can teach us more about being strong, getting wiser and choosing to be happy in any situation. History has repeatedly reminded us of how our achievements are worth celebrating more than our failures. In your busy schedule, are there some accomplishments (no matter how minute) that have built your confidence and made you more determined to achieve your objectives? Because celebrations position you in a place to succeed. If you choose not to give up on your dreams. And acknowledge your wins (by logging every one in a journal or sharing with a trusted friend). Over time this brings psychological and physiological benefits from increasing durability to maintaining your focus.

So remain in pursuit of your dreams, over take them and recover all that has been lost with God’s help! Learn continually, work hard, never lose your passion or sparkle and keep believing in yourself (even when the odds are against you).

Don’t know where to start? Practice makes perfect and you only get one chance to be the best version of yourself! Now is the time to invest in you. You can find a better way to get through you break-up. Infuse every moment with beauty. Influence every God-given dream into your destiny. And impress your tomorrow with hope and expectancy. You don’t have to do this alone and I know exactly how you feel. But there is hope in your journey, To discover that the sky is the limit. And find an undying passion for living purposefully in the centre of God’s will!

I total agree that obstacles develop strength and character within us. Of course we don’t like to go through the valleys but they help us appreciate the mountaintops that much more.

Yes. Every time I want to give up on something God has called me to do, He reminds me of His promises through verses like the one you mentioned here and points out prior successes or small successes along the way. Thank you for this encouragement today.
