The 4 C’s To Live As A Christian Within The ‘Selfie Culture’

We are living in the ‘selfie culture’. Statistics show that approximately 1.5 billion humans on the planet own a smart phone. Yet the increase in social media has contributed to ‘virtual distance’. Meaning the more time we spend with technology, the more emotionally disconnected we are becoming from ourselves and each other.

The Call

These are times for Christians to arise and fulfil God’s destiny. There are signals of change to kindle and erupt within the Christian church. From what the world represents. And who God wants us to be.

Ezekiel received a profound vision from God. Of dry bones, listening to the words of God. Becoming alive and able to breathe again. Being replaced with flesh and covered with skin. So that they may live and know who indeed is God. Before his eyes, Ezekiel watched as this valley of dry bones arose. The Spirit of God breathed into them. And they became a very great army.

The days are dark. But, the glory of God will rise above and shine brighter. As a character of integrity is arising. While God assembles this very great army. Of a generation emerging with a flame to passionately chase the eternal God. Exploding into the darkness with hopefulness and restoration.

The Stand

The reformation needs to begin deep within our hearts. As God longs to do a new thing across the globe. We are His great army need to be more aware of living for God in a new and distinct way. To be restored back to Him. An awakening. A rebirth. A comeback. To be rejuvenated in transformative worship. Filled with intimacy, honour and a covenant with God. Enabling the light of God Himself to shine in the midst of the obscure darkness.

The Glory

Have you believed for fresh hope? A new direction? A renewed purpose and passion? That God would move in and through you?  God opens the eyes of our hearts to see His glory through true heartfelt worship.

The offering of incense (an act of prayerful worship) in the bible is evident from the Old into the New Testament. From altars being built in reverence to God alone. To the vision of ascending prayer. What was it about these offerings that were acceptable to God? God longs for a generation who will pursue close and passionate devotion to Him. A lifestyle of living in confluence of prayer and worship. Being set apart means you radiate something that is different. Drawing others to the everlasting light.

Consider these 4 C’s – to live within the ‘selfie culture’ and know where our true identity is rooted.

How do you do all this? And live in God’s truth. Through the peaks and valleys; trials and testings of life? Get excited. God wants to start with us. Our hearts. The way we think. And feel. Part of faithful worship lays before us the most powerful weapon. To bring us into the presence of a God who is simply Most High. To impress groups of people to become glowing fires.

Where and how do we converge? To live a sacred life in the middle of society so irreligious and aspire to be like Christ in a self-obsessed and secular lifestyle? Begin to know God and His ways above anything else. Become enablers for God. As we witness the rising of His glory. Displayed by the evidence of God’s goodness in our lives. Souls will arise out of darkness. Be lifted towards His light. Prodigals will return. Those who have wandered outward. And moved backward. There will be momentum and growth. Of people adjoining to God and His ways. As God’s hand is upon lives. There will be a sense of influence. Through tests. As people will come to your horizon. And you will impact others through building God’s kingdom.

You have been appointed to be the ‘great commissioner’. God seeks and pursues us relentlessly. He loves jealously wanting only our devotion to Him. He longs for us to not revere any idol before Him. Not to sell our soul to the world and it’s ways but burn with passion and zeal for Him.

To be influencers in the sector where we work.  From musicians to authors. To rise as prayer warriors and worship His grace and glory. From the time of Moses, there has been the devoted search to see the face of God. True worship allows us to experience the presence of God by opening the eyes of our heart. But, only in that day when we shall see Him in triumphant glory. And worship before the emerald throne to the One who was and is and is to come! Is where we will see God’s face.

4| Confluence

Do you believe you could be a person of influence? That God could use your efforts to bring His wisdom and glory. To impact those around you? The glory of God is pivotal and eminent. We need to arise to the call as undying sparks are birthed in our hearts. Kindling flames of characters that lead with integrity. Effect change. For and only towards God Most High and His purposes. To inspire others to return to their first love in fervent pursuit as the bride (the church) prepares for her Bridegroom (Kingdom of God). This concept shatters our rational mind. But, paves the opportunity for God’s supernatural reviving. To both rouse and inscribe our hearts. That we may be devoured with a relentless abandonment to the passions and intentions of God’s call to stand and be distinct.

You nailed this one! “That we may be devoured with a relentless abandonment to the passions and intentions of God’s call to stand and be distinct.”

Yes! That last line is powerful truth:
“That we may be devoured with a relentless abandonment to the passions and intentions of God’s call to stand and be distinct.”

So inspiring! May we rise up by the power of the Holy Spirit, to do the part we are called to do! We cannot do everything, but we CAN do that which God is asking of us. May we not grow weary in pointing others to Christ.
