Have you stopped to think about why you should write your story?
Research indicates that writing is often a lonely vocation. It can be hard and difficult. However, I have found to live, love and script outlines situations in words more amply than I could express. There is never a good time to aspire to become a writer. I instinctively followed my most intense emotions mercilessly. To write the story of my life. And in the process have learned that it is not me, but about who is holding the pen. So to encourage you to write, here are 3 practices writing more teaches me.
1| Waiting …
Each day is a journey of faith and I will never know everything until I reach the end when I meet God, the Lover of My Soul face to face. In the process of experiences and lessons, writing is an art and craft that I can develop through deliberation over time.
Being mindful of the present, as I wait through every moment, experience, trial and tragedy. I can codify my habits and strategies in-between happenings that shape me. To invent sentences that become stories of deep longings that we all can relate to.
2| Hoping …
My life has become an alabaster box that has been broken before the Master’s feet. Only He knows the cost. Most authors begin their journey from a record of thoughts, journals and letters that they edit over time.
I have journeyed through my personal wilderness to find hope, healing and restoration that comes only from Christ. And that is part of my story. To pursue the Lover of My Soul through the tools of words, both in the moment and retrospectively. Creating mind-blowing ideas in sentences as I go, while allowing God to evoke new choices and actions.
3| Being Expectant …
Wherever you find yourself in your life journey, vulnerable or naive. Perhaps there is a situation you long to overcome. There are opportunities in every challege. Whether you strive to obtain that qualification, follow those dreams you are passionate about or meet your future spouse – God has such grand plans for your life. I am choosing to allow Christ, my Kinsman Redeemer and First Love to pierce my heart with His inspiration and courage as I submit the pen to Him to write my story as I encounter new confidence and hope. My aim is to love God and passionately pursue His Presence. From every occuring emotion and transfer that to all readers.
If you have not yet received your healing and restoration, then flip the pages with me. To live, love and learn well. Perusing each note of encouragement, formed from every experience that God has granted me through the creation of resilient words that cascade onto a blank page. Aspiring you to be that famous artist with small beginnings of a debut storyteller.
There is unlimited hope to be renewed and made whole in every area of your life. In the Eternal One.
