Live For Moments You Can’t Put Into Words

As the door of 2016 closes– I have evaluated my life, through positive and negative changes; challenges; stress and joyful times… I considered all the things I would like to be remembered for.

Then I found this story of an amazing woman… and it made me ponder and reflect inwardly.

Mary Lowman, wrote of her dear friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and God graciously gave her two and a half years after the diagnosis.  ‘Her ability to face her upcoming death was amazing. She made the most of every day she had.  She spent time with her large family, taking each young grandchild for a day, to express her love and her hopes for them; to give them memories of their Grandmother which will last forever.  She kept all her church ministry jobs, giving to others as she had done all her life.  She never once used her sickness as an excuse.  Her hospitality was legendary, and she kept having lots of people in for meals and overnight stays.  So often I wanted to say to her, “You can take it easy; we want you to take it easy; we want to do for you”.  But she would have none of that. She kept a big picture in mind- how she wanted to be remembered by her family; how she wanted all of us not to worry about her, but just to enjoy our time with her.   How she wanted to end very well – and she did.

Though life gets hard or we face tough situations or our hearts ache or there is bad news… the grace and mercy of God towards us is endless. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

  • His divine protection…
  • His powerful peace…
  • His unlimited promises…
  • His loving kindness…

Looking back at 2016…

1| I want to honour Christ ~ my Kinsman Redeemer for His never-ending love and persistent presence in my days; both difficult and easy…
2| I want to thank every person that has inspired… impacted… touched my heart in a small or big way…
3| I want to apologise to any person I may have hurt along the way… with careless words… with thoughtlessness…

Then in expectant anticipation for 2017… I uncovered that there are 365 promises in the bible that say ‘Do not be afraid’… I believe this is for every day, so that–

  • I can stand fearlessno matter what I face… because Christ is with me!
  • I can rest in His unconditional assurance… because His love and faithfulness for me is eternal!

Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it!  I’m forever telling everyone how faithful you are.
I’ll never quit telling the story of your love—

Psalms 89:1 (MSG)
