Easter ~ A Season of Hope, Renewal & New Life

The final week of Christ is important to many Christians.

There are many reasons why some follow Christ’s steps through the final days and hours of His time on earth.

I typed ‘Christ’s Final Week’ in Google and it brought up 17,800,000 findings! That is astounding.

These are the important events that took place in the last seven days of Christ as He walked on earth as the Son of man…

1| Christ’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem [Palm Sunday].
2| Christ in the Temple [the money changers].
3| Christ’s debates with the Sadducees, Pharisees and Herodians.
4| Christ’s condemnation of the Pharisees.
5| Christ’s prophecy of the Second Coming.
6| The Lord’s Supper [Judas’ Plot].
7| The Garden of Gethsemane [Peter’s Denial].
8| The Jewish Trial [With Caiaphas].
9| The Roman Trial [With Pilate].
10| The Crucificion [Calvary].
11| The Resurrection.

You could do the same… You would find different accounts… You would read different revelations of what the final week of Christ means to many.

I love the season of Spring, because although we are marking the trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ… we are also looking towards the Hope He brought when He rose from the grave.

In every garden and park, there are daffodils which are so bold and bright….

In the fields, there are the new lambs, which many will be thinking of enjoying for their Easter dinner…

But, what stands out for me is the Lamb that was slaughtered for us.

God sent His only Son, to bridge the gap between sin and God  ~ the CROSS.
God offered the ulimate reconciliation ~ so that if we believe, we will one day find Eternal Life.

This Easter, I want to share 3 things you already know…

1. There was a trial.
2. There was a death.
3. There was a resurrection.

If you want to read a detailed account of the ‘Final Week of Christ’, read the words of Matthew from chapters 26 – 28.

This is a story you may have heard numerous times.

You may not want to contemplate the true meaning of Easter because you are not a Christian…

You may only enjoy the Easter food and flair [chocolate]…

But, I challenge you, to look beyond the hollow chocolate eggs and see what they truly symbolise ~ an empty tomb.

HE IS RISEN! Matthew 28:1-10.
