Behind Every Great Daughter Is A Truly Amazing Dad!

This Father’s Day, there are many blog posts you could read. From posts which include what to write to your dad (inspirational quotes and sayings). To great things to do with your dad on Father’s Day, where to go with your dad (top destinations to visit) and what to buy for your dad (the best Father’s Day gifts). My post is slightly different as instead, I decided to write a post in tribute of my father. Considering my dad and the inspiration he has had throughout my life.

My dad was a Minister, a Godly man and this was exemplary of his life. Earlier this year I published a book ‘How to Be An Inspirer Who Leads’ and much of my inspiration for this book was drawn from the life of my dad and the work I do.

How can you pay tribute to your dad this Father’s Day?

A special day where we can take a moment to reflect on all the sacrifices that our own father has made to imprint our lives. Not only the way he touched our own life but those around him too. The people he may have mentored, from family, friends and strangers and the impact he made on others. In an active way we can celebrate the love we have for our father through our words and actions. Show him how much we love him and care about him when we can. Because life is too short and we have no guarantee about tomorrow.

Why do you love your dad?

I understand that many daughters (sons) may not have had a wonderful relationship or even know their father, these are the times we can lift our eyes upward to the perfect Heavenly Father who will never let us down because His love is unfailing and eternal.

At the beginning of this year, I was privileged to read some of my dad’s writings and what inspired him. And from them incorporate what he learned in his many wise years into my own blogging and writing. The two most important things my father gave me was – a relationship with a Heavenly Father that will never fade or end. And the sacrifices he made for our family.

Every father should remember that one day his son (daughter) will follow his example instead of his advice.

Charles F. Kettering

This Father’s Day how can you appreciate not only your dad, but other father figures in your life?

Those who have played a pivotal role by acting out of love to push us past our limits with honesty helping promote our personal growth and development. For their compliments and encouragement, advice and correction. From a heart that fondly cared about our future and well-being.

A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.

Billy Graham

I am glad that my dad is who he is. A man who led by his example and impressed many lives through his love and ministry. That is the most important part. In this lifetime, we will all reach a point where our lives will change or fade, but the vital point is that we never forget what our dad’s taught us. So much of who I am today is because of my dad’s influence (and my mum’s of course). Without them, I wouldn’t be writing this post. He was the first man in my life and for that I will forever be grateful for the love and devotion he gave me, in his individual way that influenced me to be the woman I am now.

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.

Henry Ward Beecher

P.S. I love you daddy forever and always, for your strength and courage, your honesty and discipline, your love and dedication plus so much more.

Always your little girl xx

My father will be 89 soon. Your message helped me to appreciate the small amount of time I may have left with him. I also feel grateful to those who have unselfishly contributed to my life in a fatherly way. It is wonderful to experience God’s love and care through other people, healing our wounds and scars!

So good! I’m reading this on Father’s Day, and it really hit home. What resonated especially was the thought that when our dads (parents, anyone) MODEL how to live, that’s what’s really stuck.Thank you!
