Turning Life Seasons From Broken Promises Into Maximum Expectations And Prospects

Autumn has arrived. And there are subtle hints flying across the sky as the Indian summer quickly fades. The geese have begun their migration journey south. The temperatures fall, reminding us of the change in the atmosphere. The leaves too have started their descent and the colours are simply stunning. With aromatic berries and taunted dusky leaves vibrantly wandering across our path. This is simply my most favourite season in the calendar. Because nature has a way of so cleverly walking us through the beauty of everything close and far. In all this I suddenly became aware of how God works everything for our good, even those bad, dark seasons where we wonder how and why. To turn the seasons of life from broken promises into maximum expectations and prospects.

My own life is one where ashes have become beauty. Where God has taken every piece of my brokenness and turned it into His masterpiece. I know I am still a continual work in progress. And recently have been thinking of how a natural pearl is formed. From something broken into something so exquisitely beautiful. It seems like a painful process when a foreign substance enters the oyster shell. And how the cells within the oyster work from a number of years to perhaps even a decade to create an attractive natural pearl. This made me realise how that beautiful pearl could never be created if the oyster was not injured by that foreign substance.

Exposure turned into expectation…

Can you identify those wounds in your life, that perhaps you have hidden or brushed away from everyone? Because you didn’t want them to know. Like the summer flowers departing and a transformed season of waving and changing scenes, God uses everything that has hurt our heart to work out for our good. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, surrender all those parts of your musing heart to God. God can renew every single hope and heal our bodies. (Psalm 147:3)

Beauty and hope, isn’t that what we all long for – together simultaneously? As I gaze out of the window I am surprisedly reminded through nature by the myriad of opportunities God holds as He awaits to direct us to take the next step. Like the numerous leaves falling with many differing colours, there is so many advantages to the love of God in this season of fall. He molds and holds us with value as He slowing takes our life and like a precious metal exposes it to the furnace of life before it can be purified, so similar to how the worth of a platinum or gold can be displayed. He takes us through every really difficult situation. Where those blows seem to keep coming and when we think every hammering is in vain. Instead God is increasing our value as he does that platinum metal which is finally turned into a gorgeous piece of jewellery exhibiting an engagement, wedding or eternity ring.

Through the process to prospects…

Do you feel sad that summer is over? There are some aspects of the warmth and the sunlight with dancing butterflies in the cool meadow that makes us wish every season could stretch on forever. But that is not how God created the seasons to be. In the same way in our lives God is using every emotion, event and offence from hurt to abuse to build great characteristics in our hearts and souls. To increase positive strengths and in time allow you to note how the stuff you wished had never happened has brought you to the place where you stand today. As a person of value because of what God has done. Especially when those discouraging voices try to remind you otherwise. I love how much God loves us and holds us dear. He gave up nations and people to rescue us. (Isaiah 43:4)

It all brings us back to the process that we cannot evade or fast track. Every part of our life is a process. And in the middle of all that we can discovee benefits as we walk every step with God. Not to get discouraged or allow the current suffering which the present times hold to be anything compared to the glory God will reveal to us. And the key is to trust, trust, and never stop trusting God in the storm. Across the storm. Keep our eyes on Him. Help us view the value of the process. When these tough times appear, don’t be surprised, because we know this is God testing our faith and preparing us for the path He has laid out ahead for us. (1 Peter 4:12) He walks with us through every deep ocean and flaming fire.

From broken to blessed…

Brokenness has taught me many lessons, but one of them l was determined to pursue and make this choice daily. Forgiving others. Although I know I have to work on this purposely in future conflicts. Is choosing to forgive. I chose to forgive when I was betrayed, let down, used, abused, left as an option. God has given us victory over every situation and all we have to do is step out with determination and authority to claim that power and release it into our own lives. So that we can experience the same forgiveness God has towards us and pray that towards every person who has hurt us.

It all happens in God’s time. How he restores us. Every crisis has the potential to show our true colours. Either we will receive God’s promotion or we will demote ourselves. Honestly I want to choose God’s promotion. To hold on to Him with all my strength even if the complaining in His ear is constant. To fight for His approval over every area of my life. Even the closed parts that no one can see. Sometimes we might feel the silence around us. Those moments when we wonder if restoration will ever come and we feel drowned by our situation. Invisible. Yet in all that as we wait on God He will give us new strength to fly and soar with Him. The purposes God has designed for us is meant to bring meaning and value and like His love story to us openly displayed on the cross, it was all because of His relentless unconditional love.

Ava, what an inspirational post! Yes, we are saying bye, bye to summer. Fall is here, warmly welcoming winter, the coldest days on the earth. I see beauty fleeting, falling leaves, colours being faded. Soon, there will be a silence, a silence accompanied by fog, snow & chilly winds. Ava, you’re right in saying that there is hope & light for us still. Soon, God will heal us. Soon we’ll witness sun lightning in spring, waters sprinkling in streams, and read-breast whistling from the garden-croft. Sure, there is life with God, nature. Love and peace! πŸ™‚

Indeed. God’s restoration always comes in His perfect timing. While we’d love to rush to solution, God uses our trials to reveal His glory and demonstrate His promises. I appreciate your beautiful reminder and encouragement!

One of my favorite seasons and I am presently in a season of change as I have recently been terminated from my employment. This is totally out of the blue and I have been seeking God and His will, meditating, and considering some choices before me. God is good in all things and I trust in him to see me through this temporary set back.
