Discover some of the most beautiful islands on earth

What would your daydreams of the perfect beach holiday comprise of?

A cultural encounter or luscious landscapes, perhaps a simple idyllic beach. Today we can travel to top destinations across the world and enjoy some amazing sunshine in addition to an exotic holiday. From stunning views to amazing wildlife, rugged mountains and tropical rain forests, you can find the most incredible beaches to adore.

At its best, travel should challenge our preconceptions and most cherished views, cause us to rethink our assumptions, shake us a bit, make us broader minded and more understanding.

Whether you thinking of planning that exotic beach holiday or simply daydreaming, here are some favourite places to add to your bucket list. Places that add memories to our album and leave us spellbound and filled with amazement.

The Maldives

In the warm waters of the Indian ocean, experience thousands of coral islands. Gaze at an amazing under water world or simply relax on the white sands as you gasp at the colour of the ocean and enjoy the romance of stunning luxury. A top honeymoon destination but also a stunning retreat if you in search of beauty and rest. Marvel at the atolls, sip some bubbly or swim with dolphins and exciting marine life surrounded by the breathtaking Indian Ocean.

St Lucia

Surrounded by the Eastern Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, there is more than adventure waiting for you. Wander through rain forests to volcanic beaches, everything you see will leave you wanting to discover your own adventure. Perfect escape filled with romance and rustic landscapes, you can experience the culture or simply slip away into your own tranquil hideaway. Laze into the balmy nights and gaze at heavenly sunsets while savouring a cool drink. Trek along palm bordered beaches and cosy bays, discover untouched waterfalls and emerald green rain forests. Seek the tranquillity, so romantic and spectacular in every way. Find yourself and so many adventures in between.

Seychelles

Off the coast of East Africa, in the Indian Ocean this is definitely an island paradise. There are stretches of white sand with turquoise coloured waters framed by luscious green hills and palm trees surrounded by boulders that tell an old story. If you keen to explore splash out and snorkel in these warm inviting waters. Or find a lost island that has never been seen. Yet again another unspoiled place to relax on soft sanded beaches or tour the geological wonders around the island and admire some of the diverse and exotic island life thriving on this exquisite island.

Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, and often risky – forces you to have first-hand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realise that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.

Crete

The largest island in Greece, there is archaeological treasure to bright blue lagoons that draws you to the warm waters of the Mediterranean. Whether it is splendour or ancient treasure, you will find it all here. Not to mention the cuisine and culture. So close to Europe. Be enchanted by the uniqueness of this island. Not forgetting the culture, from sipping Greek coffee to enjoying some traditional food while gazing into the blue Mediterranean Sea, you will not be disappointed you chose to visit.

Azores

In the mid Atlantic, these volcanic islands are situated closest to Portugal. This is a land of beauty. Lagoons so breathtaking you feel like you are in a Lost Eden. Most of all there are moments where you can switch off and enjoy life in an unhurried and slow pace while charmed by nature herself. From local churches to imposing mountains, you cannot miss such tradition and leisure wrapped together. Off the coast of Portugal and in close proximity to the rest of Europe, there is no excuse to not capture these islands that offer so much from hot springs to fishing towns. Delicate cuisine to a wonderful retreat.
