When you lose someone. Unexpected or by permanent separation. The question is, how do you recover?
What kind of loss are you struggling with? You may feel like life has been cruel or unfair. There are too many uncertainties.
For those who have never experienced losing someone they love. It is difficult to understand or empathise with how you feel. Their words and actions can often leave you feeling more hurt and rejected.
At times it is complicated because you never expected or wanted to face loss. Other times, you are left hanging. Somewhat in limbo not knowing why this has happened. Just a sudden void and a string of unanswered questions.
The shock can leave you fractured and unable to continue with daily living. Where do you start? Or more importantly, how.
When you feel so overwhelmed. Give yourself time. Life does go on. And somehow we have to function alongside our pain.
‘Notes To Self’ is based on my personal views of how to recover and reinvent yourself after the shock of loss wears off.
Perhaps it is difficult for you to imagine how life could ever be normal again. The answer is life will never be the same. The one certainty is you will grow. So start being the person you want to be. Believe in yourself!
While you find yourself, the depth of sadness can cloud your vision for a new life. There is no time limit on how to cope or continue. Simply create your own way. Through, under or alongside the devastation that has shattered your world.
