This year began with a jolt. Family news had shaken our world. In the time of anxiety and concerning illness. We prayed. Many joined us. Standing with our family. At that moment, I prayed for a miracle.
Looking back over 2018, there have been 12 chapters and 365 pages to each of our stories.
There have been so many highlights in 2018. Changes and achievements. Excitement and disappointment. Top stories that made news headlines causing us to smile. And others that made us cry. New beginnings and sorrowful endings.
Life is filled with adversity. Tragedy and circumstances drive us to feelings of helplessness and desperation. Sometimes we have no control over what happens.
Yet despite all the trying moments and joyful ones, we know that God is Ruler of everything. He is Sovereign.
The Cambridge dictionary defines ‘miracle’ as an unusual and mysterious event that is thought to have been caused by a god because it does not follow the usual laws of nature.
Every page of 2018 has contained miracles, sometimes so small we have to strive to detect them. Did you stop and observe the little miracles that God sent your way? The extraordinary coincidences that can be found in every chapter of your story this year that has silently or swiftly passed you by.
I believe it is the small miracles that God brings, that cause our heart to adjust. Over time, our focus turns to Him and how He is not only changing our situations but altering the eternal perspective of our hearts to His.
This year our family has encountered highs and lows. Trying moments and joyful ones. Crushing changes and grand achievements. Beautiful beginnings and dreadful endings.
In all this, I have seen the greatness and power of God. His majesty and victory. Knowing in His hand is all power and might. As He grants us the ability to gain strength and be great.
Are you still looking for a miracle this Christmas? Christ came as a miracle birth. The gift of Christ’s birth [The Messiah] in a stable in the backside of Bethlehem was an extraordinary coinincidence. Alas, not many noticed this. Or even acknowledged it.
