Most if not all of us have been affected by cancer in some way…
You may know someone who has walked this road… or is on the road to recovery… or sadly have lost a loved one…
For a great cause, hope you got to enjoy a coffee and cake at the biggest coffee morning and support Macmillan Cancer Support.
This reminds me of the ways I can support another through tough times and there are many good reasons to be charitable so here are two important points to me.
1|By giving to others, you will find contentment with yourself
To have a responsibility to consider others especially if we are able to help, no matter in what way or how small, is our duty.
In assisting others, it opens doors of new meaning to your life as you ‘help those who are troubled and satisfy their needs. Then your light will shine in the darkness. You will be like the bright sunshine at noon.’ [Isaiah 58:10]
2| By wanting to help others, you will find simplicity
To have a genuine aim to help others through your time, money and resources because this is heartfelt. And not because you wish to be recognised or admired in public.
The best things in life are often simple. Doing good merely because you care and would like to be of assistance to another. ‘And don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with others, because sacrifices like these are very pleasing to God.’ [Hebrews 13:16]
In which ways would you like to give more to others?
