What is your dream?
I recently was asked this question. And it made me pause and ponder. I have dreams. But, like Joseph know that in reaching those dreams, I must entrust them with the great Dream Weaver, God.
So these are 12 questions to ask yourself.
These can be to help you realise what you really aspire after in life…
These can be part of who you are or want to be as a person…
Having goals that you envision is how you commence the process to achievement.
1| Is there something that you are passionate about?
Something you would like to do. Travel. Start a business. Learn a new skill. Study. Change career paths. Do something you always only dreamed of doing.
2| Have you thought about what your dreams are?
Things you are passionate about. Ideas that you would invest resources into. Jot ideas as you may forget them.
3| What are you good at?
Maybe there is something you enjoy doing. A zeal that you could devote endless hours mastering. Don’t believe you are just average, because within each of us is greatness.
4| What interests you the most?
Something that reflects your personality. Says a bit about who you are as a person. The things you enjoy. Are enthusiastic about.
5| Do you have a priority list of things you would like to achieve?
Based on your personality, every dream is individual. That is why we all look different. Because we are not the same. And even if we share the same dream as someone else it will be distinctive in how we action it.
6| Do you believe in yourself?
Are you able to become confident to talk about what you want. Not what others say. Or tell you that you should do. But what you want. Aspire high.
7| Are you imaginative?
Would you be able to think up great ideas. Then slowly find ways to bring those ideas to life. Learn how to mind map thoughts.
8| What type of dreams do you have?
In every area of your life you might have a dream. From your job to your finances. Write down each area that you have a dream in. Devise one goal for each area.
9| If you have more than one interest, which one do you think is worth pursuing first?
Creating lists is good. Have each area of your life from relationships to travel. Plan attainable goals about what is important within each of those and how you want to pursue each.
For example if setting time to develop better relationships is important, then find ways to network. Build your social skills. Learn how to interact with optimism.
10| Do you have a realistic timescale for each goal?
Time is a great resource. But once spent cannot be recovered. If you give yourself small targets within each goal (which is your objective), you will be more successful. Don’t try to do too much all at once. Take small steps slowly.
A good example is if you want to travel the world. Begin with where you would like to go. Then what sort of experience do you want to have. Once you know what you want to do and where you would like to visit. Evaluate all the pros and cons. It is easier to find ways of doing this once you can work on each point.
11| What inspires you?
The fear of our own potential or the lack of resources can be the biggest roadblock to inspiration and self-motivation. Does your dream inspire you firstly. Realise if it is a personal goal or to help others. Leave the your hangups from the past and disappointments behind.
Activate your thinking in a new way. Find self-motivation tips. Gain knowledge into the dream you want to pursue. Read books and research the area you interested in. Set realistic goals of how you want to reach this.
An example is if you want to volunteer and travel. Start doing small events. Gradually you can grow this to travelling the world and volunteering for your favourite charity or field that impassions you. You will reach two dreams in one.
12| Do you believe you can impact your world?
Have a goal big enough to impact others. Then get ready. Prepare yourself as you set your dreams into actions.
Consider all the greatest ideas that have impacted history. It was initiated with a thought. And through imagination and hard work, the idea was birthed. Because of that we have some of the greatest inventions in history such as the invention of the light bulb by Thomas Edison.
