7 Stages To Not Miss The Moment…

How many times did you miss something fabulous along the way, because you were too distracted?

Life has become busier, with more responsibilities. Part of lessening our stress levels is learning to find ways to take time out for ourselves…

In waiting, God is teaching me so many valuable truths…
Here are 7 Stages To Not Miss The Moment ~

#1 Enjoy The Fascinating Moments Right Now…

Stay in the present… go out for a walk… enjoy the sunshine… the cold fresh air…

Do not lose the enchantment of right now…

Take a moment to stop chasing the next item on your ‘to do list’… to always be focusing on the next thing that needs to be done…

Set goals… but try not to get ahead of yourself…

Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! Psalms 63:3 (NLT)

#2 Stop Getting Ahead Of Yourself…

Find a balance… plan for tomorrow… but live in today…

Slow down… take a moment to experience the beauty God has place all around you today…

Celebrate and admire…. the blessings and faithfulness of God…

My soul is quiet and waits for God alone. My hope comes from Him. Psalms 62:5 (NLV)

#3 Allow Yourself To Have Fun…

Give yourself permission to be light-hearted… and have some fun time…

To not always race the clock… especially when you have days filled with responsibility and obligation…

Take some precious me time…

Do what you want to do now … don’t procrastinate things until tomorrow!

Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength! Nehemiah 8:10 (NLT)

#4 Monitor Progress…

Take time along the way to see your progress…

Results + Personal growth = Process… but this is ongoing and a lifelong pursuit…

All the work you do… develop and support your personal growth… esteem yourself… count the small wins and successes along the way…

Don’t always be hard on yourself… learn to cut yourself some slack…

You might not be where you want to be… but you are a long way from where you first started…

For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLV)

#5 Embrace Challenges… Take Risks… Learn From Mistakes…

Ask God to help you learn how to let go of people… situations… the past… things you get hung up on… cannot control…

Realise you won’t always get it right… but when obstacles come… don’t give up…

See mistakes as stepping stones… don’t take anything for granted… or dismiss lessons… appreciate what you are learning along the way…

See, I have put in front of you today life and what is good, and death and what is bad…

Deuteronomy 30:15-18 (NLV)

#6 Be Patient…

Growth requires time… you cannot fast track things… even though we live in a society that has an instant mentality…

Slow down… gain clarity on why you doing things…

Enjoy every little moment you are going through…

Stop trying to always accomplish more and more – faster and faster… which only leads to frustration… stress and eventually burnout…

Be happy in your hope. Do not give up when trouble comes. Do not let anything stop you from praying. Romans 12:12 (NLV)

#7 Focus on God…

If the picture looks hazy [like a camera] adjust the focus.

Look up… and God will guide your every step…

Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men.
Colossians 3:23 (NLV)

Points to Ponder ~

  • List all the good things to enjoy today ~ make meaning in everything…
  • Plan how to stop getting ahead of yourself ~ attach effort to everything you do…
  • Keep a reminder of all the tough decisions you have made over the last 6 months to a year ~ to forgive… let go…
  • Prompt yourself with achievements ~ things that have made you stronger… mistakes you have learnt from…
  • Be yourself… become creative; innovative… invent yourself as one of the ‘best options available’…
  • Set yourself a challenge ~ this year I am not asking Jesus to bless my greatest dreams… but for Jesus to be my greatest dream!
