8 Ways Of Letting Go And Moving Forward…

Have you been hurt…  lost hope… been rejected (repeatedly)… or your heart has been broken… then stay with me!
Valentine’s Day and the idea of romance is advertised everywhere… there is emphasis on finding Mr or Miss Right…
Finding love is a great thing… if you are in the right place… But, if you have experienced some sort of emotional pain… it is beneficial to heal first and let go of all the negative traits from the past… before you can move forward…
If you choose to hold on~  not heal and let go~ and move forward… you are giving your past more power, than trusting in the amazing God who has a future for you beyond your wildest imagination…

Here are 8 Ways of Letting Go…

#1. Accept The Facts

In that moment when you feel sad or hurt or heartbroken… stop for a moment and simply be grateful… If God didn’t allow this friendship or relationship to work out… there must be a reason… and trusting God is more important when you learn to accept the truth (that it’s over)… Learn form the experience… how can you grow from what is happening right now… Be thankful for this chance to learn and develop into a better person ~ from everything that did work (and made you smile)… and also from everything that did not work (and makes you sad)…

#2.  Create Distance

Take some time out for yourself… to reflect… to gain clarity of the situation… to heal… Keep busy… explore a hobby or interest… be creative… write down everything that you think… and feel (every emotion)… Be kind to yourself… take care of you!

#3. Stay In The Moment

Change your focus to the moment at hand… you cannot understand everything all at once… you cannot change what has already taken place… Live right now… learn what you can… but don’t waste your energy trying to figure why things turned out the way they did… Concentrate on what you can change right now… if you can’t change something ~ work  on changing the way you think (attitude)… Trust God can see the future… so plan the steps you aim to take… one at a time…

#4. Be Responsible

You have to be accountable only for the part that you played in what went wrong… why things ended… take control of what you did… but do not take liability for the other person! Turn the situation (and other person) over to God… and allow Him to work in your heart… and help you develop in this area of becoming a more responsible person…

#5. Change Your Focus

When you become more aware of the situation… change your attention… it starts with YOU… you can’t change another person… but you can change YOU! Review where you are right now ~ how you think… your actions… look at yourself ~ in the mirror of God’s Word… and begin changing your thoughts, behaviours, attitudes…

#6. Connect With New People

Change the people around you… focus on positive people… who build up and encourage… Mentors… Inspirers…Positive people… People come into our lives for a reason and a season… If the season ends… move forward…

#7. Today Is A Present

Today may seem gloomy… you may feel disheartened and think your heart will never heal… the emotional pain may be unbearable… But, trust me, Christ can heal your heart (if you allow Him to)… it takes time and surrendering to Him… Forget the negative things that happened… make a consicious choice to leave the past behind… begin planning and taking positive steps… to progress forward…

#8. Take Chances

Getting hurt is a risk… facing heartbreak is a challenge… but there is a reason… the one thing you can do is keep trying… Get up… take a chance… try something new… every single day! Forge a new future… focus on God always… and pray… Prayer is the most important tool you have! …You are the only person that can hold YOU back! … The first step is the ONLY step you need to keep taking! … Only GOD heals emotional pain… trust Him even when you cannot see ahead… or don’t know… and choose Him to be your guide will be worth the journey!

It takes time (so be patient) and practice (but you certainly will get there)…  your emotions will heal and you can move on… and forward into the future God has planned for you!
