My Prayer For 2015…

Getting older makes you wiser.

Does it?

Or do we have to make a definite choice to want to become wise…

How can we do that?

As I read the words of Jeremiah, I reflected on the many chances that Christ gives us…

  1. Chances to change our ways…

  2. Chances to surrender our lives to His redeeming grace…

  3. Chances to choose eternal life, rather than sin that brings eternal death…

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.

Jeremiah 17:9-10.

Contemplating another year that Christ had so graciously given me, my thoughts mediated on this verse…

My prayer ~  no matter how difficult it is that Christ search my heart… examine my mind… and reward me according to my conduct… according to what my deeds deserved…

    • All the things I have done that I am not proud to repeat…
    • All the mistakes I have made in my past…
    • All the regrets…

By His grace and mercy, if we submit wholly to His Lordship in our lives, He takes our evil desires and turns them around for His good.

My prayer – is that Christ rend my old heart and on my birthday… give me a new heart that will know His heartbeat more than anything else in this life…

James 1: 13-14 says, ‘When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full grown, gives birth to death.’

My prayer ~  must be a daily one… for the old nature to be crucified to Christ… so that I totally surrender to His Lordship in my life…

    • I cannot change the past…
    • I cannot rectify past mistakes…

But, I can choose life in Christ…because it is His power in me that allows me to change… like Jeremiah said, only God knows our heart…only God can change me.

I have chosen a footlight… to be my beacon through 2015…

Then Joshua told the people, “Make yourselves holy, because the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5.

    A prayer of hope… which I bring before Christ…

Father, rip out the old, replace it with newness that only comes from You, help me become holy as You… no matter how much it costs. Everyday I must consciously choose holiness instead of impurity… only Christ’s grace can assist me as I make this choice.
