Ever felt like you lack direction and purpose?
Don’t know where to start?
Ask yourself these 3 questions…
1| How do I have a purposeful life?
It begins with what I do with each day.
Most days we feel that the day flies by too quickly and we don’t have enough time for everything. The English Chambers Dictionary defines time as ‘the continuous passing and succession of minutes, days, and years.’ Yet this doesn’t really tell us what time is at all; it just tells us how we have measured time.
Over time, our perspective changes and we look beyond what we can see. ‘And I know God has made everything beautiful for its time. God has also placed in our minds a sense of eternity; we look back on the past and ponder over the future, yet we cannot understand the doings of God.’
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (The Voice).
Time is the coin of your life.
It is the only coin you have,
And only you can determine how it will be spent.
Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
2| How do I achieve purpose in my life?
It begins with how I manage the time I have daily.
The Bible gives us clear instructions on how we can manage our time. Teach us to number our days so that we may truly live and achieve wisdom (Psalms 90:12). The more we study God’s word (like looking into a mirror), we begin to change aspects of our life to reflect what we see and make it look better (in line with God’s word).
The Eternal’s law is perfect, turning lives around. His words are reliable and true, instilling wisdom to open minds. The Eternal’s directions are correct, giving satisfaction to the heart.
God’s commandments are clear, lending clarity to the eyes. The awe of the Eternal is clean, sustaining for all of eternity. The Eternal’s decisions are sound; they are right through and through.
They are worth more than gold— even more than abundant, pure gold. They are sweeter to the tongue than honey or the drippings of the honeycomb.
Psalm 19: 7—10 (The Voice).
Time, the cradle of hope-
Wisdom walks before it, Opportunity with it, Repentance behind it:
He that has made it his friend will have little to fear from his enemies,
But he that has made it his enemy will have little to hope from his friends.
Charles Caleb Colton
3| How do I live a purposeful life?
It begins with what I choose to do and how I manage the time I have to do for tasks; the unexpected; etc.
Time is of the greatest fact to finding purpose. This should be a planned decision everyday. We must adopt the following saying – ‘Believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts; do not make the mistake of doubting your beliefs and believing your doubts.’ Charles F. Deems. When we do this based on God’s truth we will find that ‘where your treasure is, there your heart will be also’.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
